In celebration of Secretariat’s 50th anniversary of winning the Triple Crown, I took the opportunity to paint Big Red in action during each of his big wins in 1973. This expressive representation of Secretariat’s victory at the Preakness Stakes is the second in a series of three paintings; See also Secretariat at the Derby and Secretariat at the Belmont.
