Commission a painting by Stephanie
A beloved pet, a memory from vacation, a family member, a first home... This is how my business began back in 2017. I painted anything and everything that people asked of me and loved it! The experience of working with clients and figuring out what I enjoyed painting was invaluable.
My job is far more than to document. I create heirlooms. I take immense pride in what I create and give every painting the time it deserves until the desired outcome is achieved. While I’m known for my attention to detail, more than anything, I aim to capture the essence of the subject or place that is represented in each painting.
Thank you for trusting me with your special commissions! Before submitting a request, please take a moment to read through the FAQs below.
Commission FAQs
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
Pricing is custom quoted based on project complexity and size.
what medium do you work with?
All commissions are painted with oils on 1.5 inch deep gallery profile canvas and varnished. If you prefer a different substrate (wood panel, aluminum panel, paper, etc) I am happy to change this up. Oils are my medium of choice and what I am most comfortable painting with.
how long does a commission take to complete?
This is dependent on my current schedule at the time of accepting a commission. On the commission request form, you may fill out a desired deadline, but if it is a firm deadline and doesn’t align with my schedule, I will not be able to take on your commission. I put a lot of time and attention into every painting I create and choose not to rush this process.
what is required to commission a painting?
If I accept your commission request, I will send you a project estimate including investment, terms and projected timeline. Once you accept the estimate, you’ll be invoiced for a 50% deposit to reserve your commission in my calendar.
do you create prints of my painting?
If the painting is a subject that fits within my portfolio, I may be interested to sell prints of it in my shop, but I will ask your permission for this. While I retain the copyright, I respect my clients’ wishes for privacy. Much of the time, the commissions that I create are personal to my clients and would not make sense to be sold to the public. However, if you wish to have prints made of your painting to gift to family or friends, I do offer that service and we will discuss this after your painting is finished.
who owns the copyright?
I retain all rights to all artwork I create. This includes the rights to the image of sold and commissioned original paintings. I retain the right to make reproductions of any and all artwork I create unless the collector has also purchased the full or partial rights to the artwork. To discuss purchasing the rights, contact me. When you purchase an original painting, you, the collector, have the right to display the artwork in your home or business but the artwork may not be resold or reproduced without my written permission.
