In celebration of Secretariat’s 50th anniversary of winning the Triple Crown, I took the opportunity to paint Big Red in action during each of his big wins in 1973. This expressive representation of Secretariat’s victory at the Belmont Stakes is the third in a series of three paintings; See also Secretariat at the Derby and Secretariat at the Preakness.
