I’ve never had more fun painting over a painting! From black and white to color, Justify and American Pharoah are finally finished! It only took a year and 116 days, but it was well worth the wait. A lot went into the creation of these two paintings, and I had so much fun getting lost in the process of experimentation along the way.

Five facts about Justify that you may or may not know:
1. He never lost a race and was the second horse to win the triple crown undefeated (Seattle Slew was the first in 1977)
2. He's BIG weighing in at around 1,270 lbs and standing 16.3 hands/67 inches at the shoulder
3. He was born on March 28, 2015, in Woodford County, Kentucky
4. He was bought as a yearling for $500,000 at Keeneland, and went on to earn $3,798,000 in his career
5. He's not known for being friendly, but rather a bit aggressive!
