Commission a Painting

Thank you for your interest in commissioning a painting! 

This is a comprehensive guide for commissioning a painting with me.

Read below to learn about my commission process, pricing and submitting a waitlist request at the bottom of the page.

All commissions are painted with oils on 1.5 inch deep gallery profile canvas (unless otherwise requested) and varnished.

 

The Process

 

Please review the information below before submitting your commission request.

  • After reviewing the information on this page, submit your Commission Waitlist Request with as many details about your vision for your painting as possible.

  • Evaluation may take up to a week, but I will respond to your request as soon as I can.

  • If your commission request is accepted, I will create a Project Estimate that includes pricing and an estimated timeline to completion.

  • After you accept the Project Estimate, you’ll be invoiced for a 50% retainer/deposit to secure your spot in my waitlist.

  • I will send an update as I get started on your painting and adjust the timeline if needed.

  • Once it is finished, I will send a picture of the painting for your approval, we will discuss framing and schedule the delivery.

  • The final invoice will be due upon approval of the finished painting and before scheduling the delivery

Please understand that I am not able to take on every request. If your project is not aligned with my style or is not a deadline that I can meet, then I will kindly decline and refer you to a few other artists who may be a better fit for the project.

There are two categories of pricing listed below based on the complexity of a project: Portrait and Heirloom. If you are unsure which category your project falls into, I will be happy to assist or come up with custom pricing as needed after you submit a request.

 
 
 

Framing & Delivery

Framing Options

Once your painting is finished, I will reach out to you with a picture for your approval and we will discuss the possibility of framing.

I will send you several of my favorite frame options with pricing. If you would like me to frame it, I will add the cost of the frame to your final invoice.

When the painting is dry, I will varnish and frame it for you and then schedule the delivery.

Delivery

If you are local (less than a 30 minute drive from Lexington, Kentucky) delivery of the finished painting is included.

If you are more than a 30 minute drive, I will work with you to schedule the pick up or I can ship you the painting. Shipping cost will be calculated based on size and the shipping destination.
